3 deaths in a year at Montana Hi-Line railroad grade crossing

3 deaths within 10 months of each other raise safety concerns at the Montana Hi-Line railroad grade crossing in the communities of Bainville and Culbertson.

While the deaths were a shock, locals were not necessarily surprised because of the known dangers at the grade crossing. One resident stated, “It’s kind of a perfect storm of noting being safe, and there’s no flashing lights or arms or anything like that.”

He followed up with “You’re not going to find anybody here that says there shouldn’t be railroad crossing arms.”

This is another example of how dangerous railroad grade crossings are when there are no warning lights or arms to warn oncoming traffic of a passing train. These deaths may have been prevented with these simple safety measures in place.
